    Erickborn 1998. He is our constructor who helps Malaika in many ways! He was the one who made a mobile rabbit hutch which can be pushed around the garden as soon as the grass has been eaten. He feels very much at home with all his brothers and sisters. He just discovered his talent to ride on a one-wheel-bike which needs a lot of feeling for balance. He helps Kago with repairs and he loves sport. He takes care of the animals. Together with Maureen he attends "Nakuru East Primary". His nickname is "Commanda".

    Kangeche born 2008. He is the younger brother of Mary and Joyce. His old grandparents are so happy that we took him in also. They were not able to take care for this little chap. He makes us laugh so often! Meanwhile Kangeche is our little "hero" who defends his play stuff, his food and his bed.

    Wanjohi born 2006. He is the elder brother of little Chege. This clever boy feels so fine now and is very cheerful. When the acrobatic lesson starts he whirls around and overtakes the elder children with an enormous speed. So we sometimes call him "Speedy". When we have a party he dances like a crazy dervish until he loses control and falls down. He is proud when everybody applauds and laughs.

    Chege born 2009. He is Wanjohi's little brother. He was so badly-nourished and we are happy that he recovered. He enjoys life with so many "brothers and sisters"! He is the world champion of smile and breaks everybody's heart. Nothing is too difficult, too heavy or too dangerous for him when he is assisting Kago in the shamba (field). Never is he bored, but always creative and inventive.

    Warui born 1996. Together with 'Caro big' he attends "Njoro Secondary School". He is an ambitious student and works hard. He is a talented boy, loves to sing and to be on stage as an actor and comedian. The other children respect and love him and he helps them whenever he can. This social competence is worth so much in a home like ours.

    Zachariahborn probably 1992/93. Learning is hard for him. We found some friends who helped him to learn about carpenter work and building a house. In 2011 he assisted the workers who constructed our houses and they liked him. He is so proud about this work. Zach loves football and acrobatics. He is so helpful and tries to speak some English.

    'Caro big'born 1997. Together with Warui she attends "Njoro Secondary School" in Njoro. In a talent competition she won a prize: a training for "public speaking". She is an intelligent girl and is performing well in school. Drama, poems and singing are her favourite activities, also acrobatics where she often plays the role of a coach for the little ones.

    Maureenborn 1996. Together with Erick she attends "Njoro Primary School". She is Caro middle's elder sister. Drama, poems and East African pop music are her hobbies. For the younger kids she is like a "Mum" who takes care, but also gives orders. And everybody obeys! She is quite helpful with the household. More and more she opens up during the "Round Table" meetings and explains her opinions with self-confidence.

    Sharifaborn 1997. She attends "Ndarugu Primary School" in Njoro. Her school reports show that she is an intelligent and diligent girl. She is the eldest of a group of three sisters and one brother (Lovett, Lavine, Sheila). They all live together in Malaika-Home. She loves to perform on stage, mostly reciting poems or singing songs.

    Lovettborn 2000. He attends "Ndarugu Primary" in Njoro. He is very sportive and a creative "engineer" and "constructor". So he is never bored: Together with the twins he builds landscapes, villages, machines with simple worn-out materials. His very special sense of humour is well-known and sometimes feared. His attacks out of the blue might give you a little shock. Then he starts laughing so much!

    'Caro middle'born 2002. She attends a private school in Egerton, a village near Njoro. In this school the number of students is much lower than in public schools. only around 20. This is an atmosphere where she gets the chance not only to develop her talents, but first of all fight her dyslexia. She loves playing in the garden and is very inventive. She is famous for her sense of humour and doesn't fear authorities. Doing homework is not her favourite thing, but taking care of younger ones - especially Auma - is fine.

    Kibeborn 2002. He attends "Ndarugu Primary". He is the twin-brother of Muturi. His school reports are quite satisfactory. He loves the regular acrobatic lessons, especially his brave performances on top of the rest: four metres high above everybody else. He likes the applause, of course! He is the champion! He has clever ideas and a vivid imagination when playing with mud, wood, bricks, stones and water.

    Muturiborn 2002. He is the twin to Kibe and attends the same class and school. Muturi is sportive, especially likes playing football. He is clever and interested in many things, his school reports are good. Together with his brother and Lovett he likes constructing f. ex. an irrigation system for a mini-garden or a skyscraper with shaking walls.

    Lavineborn 2003. She attends "Ndarugu Primary". She is a cheerful little girl who prefers playing and singing to doing homework so much. Nevertheless her school reports are okay. Whenever you hear somebody giggling, you can be sure it is Lavine! Together with Mary - they are the duo-gigglers! Singing and presenting poems is fun for her!

    Maryborn 2005. She also attends "Ndarugu Primary". She is a clever girl who is always best in class. She is curious and inquiring. She is the elder sister of Joyce and Kangeche. She enjoys playing in the garden. She is the female goal-getter when playing football on our compound, and the boys accept her as a member of their team. She trains writing emails, very short ones - that's true, but with clear messages: "I am fine" or "I love you"!

    Samwel born 2005. He joined the children's home in 2012 together with his sister Nyambura. The grandparents were no longer able to take care for them. They were all living in just one room. So what a change when he got a bed only for him! This strong boy longs for love and attention, and he enjoys being together with so many "brothers and sisters".

    Nyamburaborn 2007. She is Samwel's little sister. She came with him in February 2012 , malnourished after a long time of poverty. So we started with vitamins and food to stabilize her health. Now she has recovered and more and more often you can see a smile on her face. She loves sitting in the swing - enjoying the smooth movement. She also enjoys playing with the rabbits: She feeds them and cleans their hutch.

    JoyceHer official birth certificate says she was born in 2005, but we believe she is probably two years younger. She attends a Nursary School in Njoro, 300 metres away from home. When she arrived, she was so serious, but now she is happy and open! She likes playing hide-and-seek in the garden and she is a good mother to the dolls. Together with her brother Kangeche and sister Mary she feels fine.

    Sheilaborn 2007. She needs special medical care and is developing so well now. She is still our "little baby" and pampered by everyone. Her smile opens your heart when she comes running towards you to be received in your arms and turned round and round and round! She loves the swing - to and fro, to and fro for hours. She is the youngest in the group of four siblings: Sharifa, Lovett, Lavine. She attends the Nursary School nearby and can already sing some English songs.

    Aumaborn 2010. Once we heard about this little girl who was living with an aunt in very bad conditions in a Nakuru-slum. But Auma needed care so much! We collected her from that bad place. The beginning was difficult, but meanwhile she eats her food, swallows her medicine without fighting and loves playing with her "brother Chege".
